HFA Winter Research Meeting on Translational Heart Failure

The HFA Winter Research Meeting will be hosted in Berlin, Germany from 18-20 of January 2027 in collaboration with the ESC Working Group on Myocardial Function.

The abstracts accepted and presented during the meeting will be published in an online abstract supplement of the European Journal of Heart Failure.

Target Audience

The HFA Winter Research Meeting on Translational Heart Failure is a great opportunity for young researchers to meet the experts in the field of basic, translational and clinical heart failure science.

The meeting is aimed at basic, translational and clinical researchers in the field of heart failure, more specifically those doing their research in one of the following fields:

  • Basic science
  • Heart failure
  • Imaging
  • Arrhythmias and device therapy 
  • Coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes, acute cardiac care
  • Valvular, myocardial, pericardial, pulmonary, and congenital heart disease
  • Hypertension
  • Cardiovascular disease in special populations (cardio-oncology, autoimmune/chronic inflammatory disorders and heart disease)
  • Cardiovascular pharmacology – cardiotoxicity of drugs

Learning Objectives

  • Engage in interdisciplinary discussions that bridge the gap between basic science and clinical practice.
  • Recognize the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in integrating clinical needs with basic science developments.
  • Understand the latest scientific advancements in heart failure research.
  • Receive expert feedback on your research projects and refine methodologies accordingly.
  • Get feedback on the translational potential of your project.
  • Gain first-hand experience with big data analysis or clinical trials by experts in the field.

Abstract submission rules

  • Abstract submission is now open. Please submit your abstract here.
  • Submission is free of charge and must be completed online via the ESC Abstract Submission platform. Email submissions will not be accepted.
  • Submission deadline: Monday, 5 October 2026, 12:00 noon (CET, Paris time).
  • Late submissions will not be accepted. Abstracts remaining in draft status after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Abstract submitters will be notified of the selection results in mid-November 2026.

HFA Members fees: €500 incl. VAT

HFA Non-members fees: €550 incl. VAT
