About the Scottish Cardiac Society (SCS)
We are a Scotland wide organisation committed to procuring the best possible level of cardiac care for the Scottish population. It provides an influential forum for discussion and advice on the moving fronts in Cardiology with particular interests in enhancing the national network of specialist cardiac care, ensuring provision of high quality services and equity of delivery.

What data do we collect?
We may collect the following information in the course of your use of this website
We use this information to assist with making improvement so our website and SCS membership services, to fulfil requests for membership applications as well as processing registration information for our events.
Scottish Cardiology National Training Programme: Data collected for the Scottish National Training Programme (SCNTP) is obtained by the SCS Trainee Representatives for the running of these events. This data includes dietary requirements of those attending in person events and contact information including email addresses. Links to recordings of online training days are placed on the SCS website with permissions granted from the speakers. An email and attendee list of each event is held by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh for the purposes of generating attendance certificates as well as circulating feedback surveys.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect and hold online.
Where is your data stored?
Any data collected through this website for the Scottish Cardiac Society (hereafter SCS) is held at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh through a Microsoft Office 365 system. This is accessed by staff at RCPE and also accessed by Fitwise Management who provide administration support for the SCS on behalf of the RCPE. For information relating to the SCNTP events please see the “What data do we collect?” section.
The SCS is the data controller for any data relating to SCS membership, travel grants and all events. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact scs.@societysupport.org or write to Scottish Cardiac Society, 11 Queen Street, Edinburgh, EH2 1JQ in the first instance.
